Surprises come in unexpected packages and one surprise in Kilpatricks huddle is a young man named Deshaun Martinez who wears jersey number 5. Those of us that follow high school football closely understand the origin of the team from Kilpatrick and there is no need or desire to express that point. However talking about this young football player is something special. He is a 5'8" 160 lb senior that is the heart and soul of this years Mustang squad. Watching this young man run the football was like watching some of the best, he has power, speed, balance, good vision and the knack for finding the endzone. If there are any junior Colleges looking for a kid with some talent, this young athlete may be as good a pick as any. One thing is for sure though. He surely deserves a chance to prove himself on another team when that opportunity arises.
