 L.A. CITY SEASON

FOOTBALL 2008

DON'T LET JORDAN'S RECORD FOOL YOU

In the Game of the Week Friday the Jordan Bulldogs showed the H.P. Spartans that the Eastern league is going to be decided by the team that can stop the spread offense. The Bulldogs have scorched everyone with their passing attack Including 440 yrds in a loss to St Bonaventure. The Dogs are 2-3 and 1-0 in league play and licking their chops at the City Championship. Coach Asante has his team prepared to play for the entire game, every week, in the Huntington Park game QB James Boyd threw 21 of 37 times for 397 yrds in a lopsided victory 44-27. As a team thus far the Dogs have passed for 1896yds run for 519yds and caught for 1909yds. Watch out..

HERE COME THE BULLDOGS

This Friday folks don't miss the Game of the Week.

The Fremont Pathfinders

vs

The Crenshaw Cougars

7:00pm

This year the City  Section teams did not fare to well against the Southern Section.

Although I must say some of the games were  much closer than years before but  the SS ended this preseason with the most victories.

In Friday night intersectional action the city section was beaten in several games outscored by a total of 215-93

We need to do better..

Eaglerock and Jordan had touble with Cathedral and St Bonnies

Westchester 0 Valencia 35

Friday night the Comets were not well prepared for what would take place on the field in Valencia. The weather was not the best, but it was just a cold wind. Valencia was not the best but it was their Homecoming and the Homecoming Gods were on their side from late in the second quarter until the games end.

In what appeared to be an even contest, with the absence of Chris Jacobs the Comet boy wonder, Westchester seem to lose it with the score tied 0-0 late in the in the second quarter.

The score was 28-0 at the half and the Comets couldn't produce any offense, which seems to be a consistent problem these days. They would eventually lose 35-0 on a cold night at Magic Mountain.................

The Comets seemed to stay on defense Friday night

Coach of the Week

All the Coaches

For successfully making a winner out of all the athletes in the city. When we say winner we mean winning at a higher level than 10-0 or 0-10. Winning is the process that keeps a kid from going astray from April in the spring, to passing league, to Hell week on through the season. This is a task that it takes a very special person to accomplish. Those of us who coach, know, there is much more to coaching than just wins and losses.

First and goal meets Eric Dickerson

HOW LONG WILL WE ALLOW THE SELECTION COMMITTEE TO SCORN OUR CHILDREN ON WHAT WAS A VALID TECHNICALITY? BY NOT HAVING A POST SEASON PLAYOFF BRACKETING SYSTEM THAT ENDS AT THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. THIS WOULD BE SIMILAR TO TEXAS AND LOUISIANA OOPS, THAT WOULD MEAN THAT ITS DONE FAIR . IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, HOW CAN WE CALL THIS A CHAMPIONSHIP. THIS SHOULD BE CALLED THE HIGH SCHOOL BCS SYSTEM. IS A CHAMPIONSHIP REALLY A CHAMPIONSHIP WHEN IT'S PICKED AND NOT PLAYED FOR. I GUESS WE WILL FIND OUT ONE DAY.
