Gahr 21 Lynwood 17
The Gladiators of Gahr
High took on the Knights of Lynwood Friday in a SGV game. The
spread offense and Corey Nielsen are starting to look
unstoppable as the Gladiotors appear to be in full stride.
Friday night Nielsen
threw 27 of 37 for 254yds and 1 TD and also ran for one, as Gahr
was able to clip the Knights by 4 for the win.
This week Gahr will
travel to Warren for the showdown for first place. This game may
determine the league champ.....

Jordan of Long Beach players
say that they are ready to make a run for the Moore League title
this year. The buzz in North Long Beach is that the football team
has overcome issues that troubled the program in the past and that
they are now playing as a team. The loss to Santa Monica last week
was the first this season and they are about to begin league play.
Millikan will be a test this Friday, but their entire league
schedule will take a team effort and mistake free football if they
want to earn a playoff spot. First and Goal will follow L.B.
Jordan thru league.

The Inglewood
Sentinels traveled to Hawthorne this week for a game with the
Cougars. On a strong ground game with most of the running game going
to Adam Bass 9 for 70yds the Sentinels destoyed Hawthorne and moved
into a tie for third in the Ocean league.
They will travel to
Beverly Hills this week where a win will move into them into second
place behind Santa Monica.

Inglewood's offense has
sputtered at times this season, but not against Hawthorne
Compton 38 LB Jordan 22
They were big enough and strong enough to do the job but the
Tarbabes and James McConico could not be stopped. This week the
Junior Running back romped through the Panthers for 268 yds on only
8 carries. This is the third straight week that McConoco has rushed
for 100yrds. In six games he has run for 868 yrds.
He outscored the Panthers by himself scoring four touchdowns to the
22 point output of LB Jordan. Compton has four league games left on
schedule including the showdown at the VET against Long Beach Poly.
The Tarbabes are playing with a sense of urgency appearing to stem
from their loss last year to Poly on Compton's Homecoming for the
league title.
