Friday night it was the Spread vs the Double Wing T

The Gahr Gladiators and the Dominguez squared off in a San Gabriel Valley league matchup and it would be the team that scored the most that won.

It was without a doubt the best game I have seen Dominguez play offensively this year. But their defense was not able to contend with Gahr's high scoring spread offense. Corey Nielsen was able to scorch the Dons for 317yrds and 4 touchdowns on 13 of 25 passing.

There wasnt much defense in this game. Dominguez was able to use the wing t advantages to score 35 points. Gahr is now playing with a swagger that says they are the SGV team to beat this year.

Jordan of Long Beach players say that they are ready to make a run for the Moore League title this year. The buzz in North Long Beach is that the football team has overcome issues that troubled the program in the past and that they are now playing as a team. The loss to Santa Monica last week was the first this season and they are about to begin league play. Millikan will be a test this Friday, but their entire league schedule will take a team effort and mistake free football if they want to earn a playoff spot.  First and Goal will follow L.B. Jordan thru league.

Inglewood 36 Culver City 28

The Inglewood Sentenels went into Centaurs stadium just hoping to contain the high scoring offense of Culver City featuring the passing of Marquel Carter, the running of Kendall Gordan and the Receving of Edwin Tillman.

What they did was play good defense and sound offense to the tone of a 23-7 halftime lead.Lets not forget the Sentenels have a few weapons of their own in star caliber receiver Shaquille Evans and RB's Marquis Gardner and Adam Bass.

The Inglewood defense gave up 21 points in the second half but held on to get the "W"

Inglewood takes a knee before the half

Culver City uses the spread to score

But they still needed to talk it over
